It should be appreciated that all combinations of the foregoing concepts and additional concepts discussed in greater detail below (provided such concepts are not mutually inconsistent) are contemplated as being part of the inventive subject matter disclosed herein. In particular, all combinations of claimed subject matter appearing at the end of this disclosure are contemplated as being part of the inventive subject matter disclosed herein. It should also be appreciated that terminology explicitly employed herein that also may appear in any disclosure incorporated by reference should be accorded a meaning most consistent with the particular concepts disclosed herein.
In the drawings, like reference characters generally refer to the same parts throughout the different views. Also, the drawings are not necessarily to scale, emphasis instead generally being placed upon illustrating the principles of the disclosure.
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for providing a speaker system arranged for auto configuration of directional sound. In particular, low frequency speakers providing omnidirectional sound distribution can be arranged in an aligned state with correct orientation to generate a cardioid patterned sound distribution. Two or more low frequency speakers can be arranged in the correct orientation using a physical engagement member or sensors which detect the orientation of the speakers. When the low frequency speakers are in the aligned state, the system can automatically configure equalization settings for multiple bass boxes.
Configuring multiple bass boxes for general purpose public address can be challenging and time consuming, requiring access to software and technical data to be entered. Many individuals are not experienced with this process, and errors can cause significant negative experiences. The systems and methods disclosed in the present application simplify setup by automatically detecting when one or more bass boxes are correctly oriented relative to each other, and the systems and methods disclosed in the present application may set the equalization and delay/phase correctly. This improved functionality prevents a user from applying incorrect settings or placing the bass boxes in incorrect locations with incorrect settings.
