FIG. 1 is a top plan view of a door mat base plate or similar article showing our new design;

FIG. 5 is a larger scale fragmentary rear elevational view thereof;

FIG. 6 is a fragmentary vertical sectional view thereof, on the same scale as FIG. 5, taken on line 6--6 of FIG. 1; and

FIG. 7 is a fragmentary top plan view thereof, on the same scale asFIG. 5.

The characteristic feature of our design is that at each outer corner the generally rectangular ridge is truncated and the plane of truncation is coincident with the smaller base of the respective symmetrical trapezoidal corner element of the downwardly and outwardly sloping ramp surface which surrounds said ridge.
