The apparatus of the present invention is used for ladles and like containers that carry molten steel and like metals. The block apparatus of this invention receives a gas burner at its front which projects flaming gases through the circular opening shown in FIGS. 1 through 3. This opening extends through the apparatus from its front to its back.
