The pole would enable a user to conveniently and attractively illuminate a flag at night so that the flag does not need to be lowered at night, such as is a United States custom. In one embodiment, the pole comprises of a clear or opaque plastic flagpole which houses lights that are powered by solar energy. The solar panels and their battery power source could be incorporated within the base, which rests atop brackets. The panels store energy from the sun's light through the day to illuminate the lights and flag at night in an attractive and cost effective manner.
