The ornamental design for a portion of a piece of furniture, as shown and described.

FIG. 21 is a perspective view of a fourth embodiment of a portion of a piece of furniture in the form of a stool showing my new design, which is identical to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 17–20 except that the panels are opaque.
