The present invention comprises a spent cartridge collector which is intended to be mounted to the side of a firearm, such as an AR-15, aligned to receive spent cartridges ejected from that firearm. The drawings show only a “best mode” embodiment. The specific mounting rail and apparatus for connecting the collector to the firearm, and the specific hinge and latch mechanisms joining the portions of the collector together, form no portion of the claimed design. Further, the extent of projection of the lower ledge of the collector opening for receiving spent cartridges forms no portion of the claimed design, as it can be varied according to the particular firearm being used.
