Description

FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of a cover of an airbag device for an automobile according to our new design;

FIG. 2 is a rear elevational view thereof;

FIG. 3 is a top plan view thereof;

FIG. 5 is a right side elevational view thereof, the left side elevational view being a mirror image of FIG. 5;

FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the rear, bottom and left of the cover of an airbag device;

FIG. 7 is an enlarged sectional end view taken along line 7-7 of FIG. 1;

FIG. 8 is an enlarged sectional end view taken along line 8-8 of FIG. 1;

FIG. 9 is a referential sectional end view showing an opened state of the cover of an airbag device after a linear thinned portion has torn, as taken along a line corresponding to line 8-8 of FIG. 1; and,

The broken lines shown in the drawings are included for the purpose of illustrating unclaimed portions of the cover of the airbag device and form no part of the claimed design. The lines consisting of long lines and dots indicate conceptual border lines between the claimed portion and the unclaimed portions.

The article of the present design relates to a cover of an airbag device for a steering wheel of an automobile for covering an airbag in a contracted state before deployment. The cover includes on the rear surface a linear thinned portion which will tear when pushed by the airbag at deployment for forming an opening for allowing airbag emergence.
